For example, they stalk and suddenly pounce on the unsuspecting victim killing it and almost swallowing it in its greed. The peacock bass always have an insatiable appetite. They are also extremely aggressive. These fish, many times smaller than the largemouth bass, are known to break rods, tear lines and tackles which would in normal circumstance be more then sufficient to handle the strongest of largemouth. A peculiarity that can be seen in the peacock bass is that the female only grows to a large size while the male stays small throughout its life.
